MY LIBRARY ACCOUNT

A: Log into your account by clicking ‘Log into your account’ on the top right of the Library Homepage Still need help? Email us at library@aub.ac.uk.

A: If you have questions about charges or items on your account, email us at library@aub.ac.uk and we’ll get back to you.

A: You can pay fines by card at the Library counter, at a self-service machine, or online. We don’t accept cash. For help with the online payment system, click here .

A: Your Library PIN is used to borrow items from the self-service machines. It must include an upper and lower case letter and a number (no special characters). Don’t share your Library PIN - if someone else borrows using your account, you’re responsible for any fines or charges.

A: Follow the steps on our Using the Library Page or use the Library PIN reset form

A: Fill out the membership form here . We’ll email you when your account is ready and your card is available for collection. You only need a card to borrow items; if you just want to use the Library space you do not need to complete the membership form.

USING THE LIBRARY

A: If the item you need is out on loan, you can place a reservation using the Library Catalogue. See the Borrowing, Returns, Renewals and Reservations page for information. Still unsure? Email library@aub.ac.uk.

A: You cannot reserve items that are currently available on the shelves in the Library; come in to collect these. If an item is on loan but you cannot reserve it, you may have fines or overdue items. Clear these to place reservations again.

A: Items will automatically renew up to a maximum of 6 months, unless they are reserved by another borrower. If your loans are not automatically renewed you have either had them on loan for the maximum period, or they have been reserved.

A: Log into your Library account to view loans and due dates. You do not normally need to manually renew items. Visit the Borrowing pagefor help.

IT Support

General Questions

A: Yes, the guillotine is located near the Library printers. Staplers are integrated into the printers and provided as a finishing option; please ask for help using these if unsure.

A: No, we no longer sell acetate or support acetate printing. Please use UniPrint instead.

A: AUB Students can request replacement Student ID cards (which also serves as your Library card) via the AUB Online Store. External members should email library@aub.ac.uk.

A: Yes - regular toilets are available on the ground floor. Accessible toilets are located on both the ground and first floors.

A: The Viewing Room is a small bookable room that can be used by students to view Blu-Rays/DVDs and other media, and for group study work. For weekdays (8:30am–5pm), book at the Library counter or by phone/email. Outside these hours, it’s available on a first-come, first-served basis.

A: Fill in this request form and we will get back to you. The Library is a study space, and we will normally only approve requests that will not cause disruption to other users.
